The early days were rocky, with some new Texas Roadhouse locations struggling. But Taylor made changes like bringing on Louisville chef Jim Broyles to overhaul the menu. Broyles’ tasty recipes helped put Texas Roadhouse on the map.
Taylor eventually sold his first restaurant to focus exclusively on Texas Roadhouse’s growth. His persistence paid off – as of August 2021, Texas Roadhouse boasts over 600 locations nationwide and 10 international outposts, staying true to Taylor’s vision 27 years later.
